An NUJ spokesperson told the JC: “This is a personal twitter account that in no way reflects the views or policy positions of the NUJ. We have received a number of complaints that will be followed up in accordance with our rule book.”
Ms Wajid has tweeted vehemently anti-Israel sentiments. She has retweeted someone who said: “The only thing we can compare Zionist Israel to in today's world is Zionist Israel, nothing and no one can compare to this evil sense the dawn of mankind!”
When Tom Watson told the Observer last week that Labour would face “eternal shame” if it did not deal with antisemitism in the party, Ms Wajid tweeted: “Labour faces ‘eternal shame’ over having a dishonest, disloyal dishonourable person for a deputy leader.
“By the way DID YOU OR DID YOU NOT RECEIVE £50,000 from FRIENDS of #Israel??
“MUST SAY TO SELL YOUR INTEGRITY? YOU ARE CHEAP TOm1!”
And in response Guardian journalist Owen Jones saying the BBC “did as they were told” after changing a headline in response to a protest from Israel’s Foreign Ministry and the Board of Deputies, Ms Wajid tweeted: “Shameful but not surprising.
"@BBCNews has been appeasing #ApartheidIsrael for years. Any attempt of 'balanced'/truthful reporting on Israeli aggression results in the Israeli lobby bombarding its switchboard with shouts of unfair coverage & they chicken out.”
