A Jewish primary school sent parents an email urging them to vote in the local elections, and naming three Conservative councillors as people who had “helped” the school.

Nancy Reuben Primary School, in north London, sent the message to over 100 parents on the day of the local elections last week.

It said: “Please remember to vote this evening, and if you are in the Hendon & Finchley Borough Mark Shooter, Councillor Braun and Anthony Finn have been very helpful in all our travel problems and in any issues we have had.”

All three were Tory candidates for Hendon ward of Barnet council, and were elected.
