Mugger's dad fined

articlemain

A father has pleaded guilty to intimidating a mugging victim who accused his son of robbery.

Mark Izraelov, 50, of Finchley, was fined £1,500 for his conduct towards Samuel Brown during an encounter at Sami's kosher restaurant in north London.

Yacov Izraelov, 20, of Finchley, was subsequently convicted of mugging Mr Brown.

Judge Witold Pawlak said he would not impose the customary prison sentence on Mark Izraelov due to his previous good record and the distress caused by his son's previous convictions.

Mark Izraelov faced an amended charge after a jury at Wood Green Crown Court was unable to reach a verdict on a charge which included the allegation that he threatened to kill Mr Brown. The alleged threat to kill was removed from the new indictment.

Mark Izraelov was also ordered to pay £120 to Mr Brown. He was acquitted of perverting the course of justice.
