Mugger Izraelov convicted

articlemain

A mugger who tried to get his victim to drop the charges has been convicted of perverting the course of justice.

Yacov Izraelov, 20, of Finchley was also found guilty of robbery after a jury heard he stole a jacket and mobile phone from Samuel Brown. He later called a friend of Mr Brown urging him to ask Mr Brown to drop the charge.

A second mugger, Edvin Banda, was also found guilty of robbery.

Wood Green Crown Court had heard that Izraelov told police he couldn't be guilty because the attacks took place on Shabbat, when he did not leave the house.

Sentencing is expected on September 1.
