Mother and toddler violently robbed in Stamford Hill

Police are appealing for witnesses after a mother and her toddler were violently robbed in Stamford Hill.

A video captured the incident which shows the suspect chasing the woman and her toddler on New Years Day.

 

 

The suspect can be seen catching the mother and pushing her buggy over before taking her purse and running off.

Police attended the scene on Darenth Road, north London alongside volunteers from Stamford Hill neighbourhood watch group, Shomrim.

Chaim Kahan, from Stamford Hill Shomrim, said "This was a horrific robbery, the woman is still very shaken and scared to leave her home.

“The two year old girl who was toppled over in the buggy, has since had terrible nightmares, waking up every few minutes, asking if the robber has already been caught.

A spokesperson for the Metropolitan Police said: “The suspect is described as a light-skinned black male, aged 25-30 years 5ft 9ins tall, slim build with short cropped black hair. He was wearing a blue trench coat and blue jeans.

“No arrests have been made. Enquiries are ongoing.

“Anyone with information is asked to call police on 101 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.”
