Daniel Cainer got more than he bargained for at the Edinburgh Festival. After a performance of his musical act More Jewish Chronicles, a couple confronted him and began to berate him for lack of support for Israel.
He was "quite surprised. I've worked for the UJIA, WIZO and know the new Israeli ambassador to the UK." While feeling conflicted over some things there, he was certainly not anti-Israeli, he said.
A pro-Palestinian then joined in the contretemps, leaving Mr Cainer quietly to slip away as the arguments continued.
