Merseyside Friends of Israel is set to hold its inaugural conference, with speakers including MP Louise Ellman.

Grassroots group We Believe in Israel director Luke Akehurst, Stand With Us UK chair Joy Wolfe and Board of Deputies grassroots consultant Steven Jaffe will also address more than 100 guests at the event.

The group hopes to make the event, which takes place on February 28, an annual activism day. Tickets for the conference, in Liverpool, will cost £20.

The group was set up last year and successfully campaigned against a fascist march in the city.
