BBC Newsnight’s economics editor Paul Mason is the latest TV personality to reveal Jewish ancestry.
Asked about his “genome” in an Observer interview, he replied that it was “part Lithuanian Jewish, part Lancashire coalminer”.
A candidate for Who Do You Think You Are?, perhaps. But the BBC might not be so keen, as he is about to jump ship for Channel 4 News as its new culture and digita editor.
