An Ilford man has been charged with the murder of 22-year-old aspiring lawyer Sven Badzak who was fatally stabbed in north London last month, Scotland Yard said.

Mr Badzak, whose father is Jewish, was buying orange juice and filled bagels before the February 6 attack on Willesden Lane, according to his mother Jasna Badzak.

He had previously attended Roehampton University and Wetherby’s private school in Notting Hill.

Rashid Gedel, 20, was arrested and charged with murder on Wednesday and is remanded in custody to appear at Barkingside Magistrates Court today.

Police continue to appeal for witnesses and urge anyone with information to call 101 or tweet @MetCC quoting CAD 5580/06Feb. The independent charity Crimestoppers can also be reached anonymously on 0800 555 111.
