A Jewish man was beaten up and left seriously injured after trying to sell his laptop online.
The man, in his 20s, was attacked on Monday evening in north London. He has listed his laptop for sale on the Gumtree website and set up a meeting with a man he presumed to be a prospective buyer.
After seeing the laptop, the buyer told the Jewish man to follow him to his car so he could pay him. The young man was then attacked by the buyer and two of his friends who beat him up and stole both the laptop and his mobile phone.
A spokesman for Shomrim, the Jewish volunteer security group, said that he was found and moved to a nearby hospital where he was treated for swelling to his lips and injuries to his head.
