The police believe the incident could be linked to a spate of attacks referred to as the 'knockout game' in which Jews are deliberately targeted.
Councilman David Greenfield said:
"It's shocking to hear about another possible antisemitic knockout in Borough Park."
"We must have zero tolerance for these kinds of attacks.
"I trust the NYPD that they will use every resource to find the perpetrators of this outrageous assault."
The NYPD is investigating the incident as a race-hate crime. No arrests have been made.
