Lewis Bronze, a former editor of Blue Peter and producer of Newsround, has landed an outstanding achievement award for his services to education.
Mr Bronze, 54, runs Espresso Education, a leading supplier of educational video-based digital curriculum resources to English primary and secondary schools.
He picked up the Education Resources Awards (ERA) Outstanding Achievement Award. The company, co-founded by Mr Bronze 13 years ago, has earned many accolades including the industry's top gong, the BETT Award six times, plus a BAFTA.
Mr Bronze tells People: "It is nice to be recognised personally for contributing to an industry and to education in general.
"I congratulate all my dedicated colleagues, past and present, who have been on this journey with me. At Espresso, we strive to ensure we bring a level of content, service and support to our customers that set a wonderful standard in the industry.
"It is simply a privilege to be able to feed children's enormous appetite for learning with creative and innovative materials."
An active member of north-west London's Richmond Synagogue, where his wife Carol is vice-chair and his daughter Jessie teaches at the Cheder, Mr Bronze began his career at the BBC. He joined the team of John Craven's Newsround in 1981 and moved on to Blue Peter, first as assistant editor in 1983, and then as editor for eight years in 1988.
During his time he a BAFTA in 1992 for Best Children's Programme. He oversaw more than 850 Blue Peter episodes. He is now planning to launch Espresso Education in north America and Canada.
