Leaked documents reveal shocking Labour antisemitism cases

It took the party 10 months to expel one member who called for 'the complete extinction of all Jews'

Leaked internal documents from Labour's own disciplinary department have revealed shocking evidence of unresolved cases of antisemitism from members.

The files, published by the Sunday Times, confirm the party is still overwhelmed with cases of anti-Jewish racism - with leaked audio revealing a party official admitting in October that 130 investigations remain outstanding.

The majority of these were reported to Labour 18 months ago. The revelations come after Jeremy Corbyn claimed to be showing zero tolerance to antisemitism since appointing Jennie Formby as general secretary in 2018.

Among the cases were Labour members who likened Jews to killer viruses and labelled them "bent nose manipulative liars."

It emerged that the party took more than 10 months to expel a party member who called for "the complete extinction of all Jews."

Former Director of Public Prosecutions Lord Macdonald told the Sunday Times this was clearly a race hate crime.

It was revealed that another member had been allowed to remain in the party despite accusing another councillor of "licking the bum of Jews for money".

It took eight month to expel another member who wrote on Facebook that there was "no need for gas chambers" because the Red Sea woould get rid of the Jews who are "a cancer to us all."

During the election campaign Mr Corbyn had suggested that anyone found guilty of antisemitism had been "suspended" or "expelled" from the party.

Dame Louise Ellman - who quit Labour over Mr Corbyn’s failure to tackle anti-Jewish racism - said the evidence reduces to “rubble” the party's claim the issue was being dealt with.

The Sunday Times report also suggested proposed changes to Labour’s disciplinary procedures favoured by Mr Corbyn could be challenged in the courts.
