A prominent Labour MP has raised eyebrows by tweeting to tell Jewish people to stop attacking her and give her "a bit of support".
Dawn Butler, the shadow Women and Equalities Minister, led calls this week for the BBC to dismiss Lord Sugar after he tweeted a photo of the Senegal national football team that was branded racist.
On Friday, Ms Butler suggested that she had been attacked by Jewish people, adding she was being "trolled by calling out racism".
She then said the attacks were coming from Jewish people and said, without their support, "we will never make progress".
“I feel quite sad that I'm being attacked and trolled by calling out Racism. All the Jewish people attacking me please think about what you're doing," she tweeted on Friday afternoon.
“I have called out antisemitism. A bit of suppprt (sic) from you would be nice. Otherwise we will never make progress.”
A number of Twitter users criticised Ms Butler, including pro-Israel blogger David Collier who asked: "What were you thinking?"
Oh Dawn, I don't even know where to start with this one. What were you thinking?

Given the state of affairs between Jews and @UKLabour over #antisemitism, it is difficult to know what is going on in the minds of some of these MPs

Ms Butler later removed the tweet, saying it was because "I don't want there to be any misunderstanding".
"Racism of all kinds is wrong and all of us need to show solidarity to each other on it," she added.
I've taken down my earlier treat because I don't want there to be any misunderstanding.

Racism of all kinds is wrong and all of us need to show solidarity to each other on it.
The Board Of Deputies welcomed her deletion of the original tweet. saying it was "open to misunderstanding".
"Let's be clear. What Alan Sugar said about the Senegalese team was racist and his full apology should have come sooner," they said.
We spoke with @DawnButlerBrent because her tweet was open to misunderstanding. We are pleased she's taken it down. Let's be clear: What Alan Sugar said about the Senegalese team was racist and his full apology should have come sooner. We must show each other solidarity on racism https://t.co/ZPikys3wyj
