Still confused about the credit crunch? Firm friends Kate Kuper, Kelly Heymans and Cate Bronstein are keen to help. Respectively a former World Bank economist, a teacher and an investment banker, the women have taken on a new project - to teach financial matters to women and schoolchildren.

Their venture, the Cool Head Company, will provide training courses in practical topics and ethical responsibilities that are not usually taught at school.

Ms Kuper, 37, tells People: "We realised that kids are actually interested in money and where they should invest it. I think this has been fuelled by television shows such as The Apprentice, Dragons' Den and The Secret Millionaire."

Their debut course for children - Fun with Finance - uses games, quizzes, role-play, excursions and other techniques to create an awareness of the world of money. It will run during half-term week, from October 20 to 31.
