Jewish secondary schools and students were yesterday celebrating another outstanding set of A-level results.
The private Immanuel College achieved a 100 per cent pass rate for the third year running, with 50 per cent at A grade and 82 per cent at grades A and B.
The proportion of A-level examinations passed at the grades required to gain admission to sought-after courses at the best universities has risen to 82 per cent, the highest score in Immanuel's history.
Tara Cohen and James Krieger both gained four A grades. Tara will read modern languages at University College, London, and James will read biochemistry at Imperial College.
Headmaster Philip Skelker said: "I am immensely proud of this excellent set of results."
JFS was still sifting through results on Wednesday. However, head teacher Jonathan Miller said: "JFS school is optimistic that we have another outstanding set of examination results, with a particularly high number of top grades."
Spencer Lewis, head of King Solomon High School in Redbridge, Essex, was equally pleased after his pupils received an overall average point score of 268.
"I am delighted with these results which show a significant improvement since last year. This is a tribute to the hard work of all the students and their teachers. In terms of value added, which shows how much extra the school has given to the students, our score is again very high and this is a tremendous achievement."
Most KS students had gained their first choice at university, including Cambridge.
Forty-eight per cent achieved grades A and B, and 76 per cent grades A to C. One student gained five A grades, with three achieving four grade As.
Joshua Rowe, chair of governors at King David High School in Manchester, was also happy man. One student achieved five A grades, three achieved four and 16 achieved three. The 89 students who sat the examinations achieved an average point score of 339 points, the equivalent of each of them achieving two A grades and one B.
Mr Rowe said: "Once again, the results are excellent."
