A comedian has made waves at an engagement party organised by two high-profile Jewish families after he jumped into the pool at a five-star hotel.
Ben Winston, son of Professor Lord Robert Winston, and Meredith Tillman, daughter of fashion retailer Harold Tillman, the chairman of the British Fashion Council (BFC) and owner of Jaeger, celebrated their engagement at the Haymarket Hotel in London last Saturday.
During the bash, catered by top kosher caterer Tony Page, Gavin and Stacey star James Corden caused a splash by jumping into the swimming pool.
Ben, who runs television production company Fulwell 73, first met Mr Corden when he was 15 and a runner on the set of Teachers, which featured him, and they worked together on a Comic Relief sketch last year.
Motti Colman, a guest at the party, said: “There was a swimming pool area in the middle of the room. There was a free bar and everyone was getting a bit drunk. James Corden is one of Ben’s best mates and he decided to strip off to his multicoloured boxer shorts and jump into the pool with a few of Ben’s colleagues.
“It was very light-hearted and funny and the first person to celebrate the moment was Ben’s future father-in-law.”
