Israeli companies specialising in sports technology will vie for the chance to meet UK leaders in the field, at the launch of the Future Sport competition.
Fifteen competition winners, selected by a judging panel, will have the chance to present their ideas to top sporting figures and corporate groups, on a three-day trip to London and Manchester next year.
It comes after BT Sport confirmed that it would use mobile technology developed by Israeli company LiveU. The British broadcaster made the announcement in September.
The competition is being led by Daniel Saunders, at the Israeli embassy in London’s economic and trade department.
A spokesman said: “The UK is often seen as the capital of world sport and the successful participants will be able to pitch to leading broadcasters, arenas and sports clubs.
“There is broad interest in various technologies including player analytics, image manipulation, injury prevention [and] fan engagement.”
The deadline for applicants is January 12, with winners being announced on January 26. The winners will travel to the UK on March 24.
