A video from an Israeli couple’s wedding celebration has gone viral for showing the bride’s deceased father appear as an AI-generated hologram to offer his daughter a special blessing from beyond the grave.
The hologram, generated by an Israeli tech company that uses AI to recreate the voice and appearance of a client’s loved one, can be seen projected inside a life-sized glass box before a crowd of emotional guests.
According to an English translation by the Israeli news outlet Mako, the bride’s father says to his daughter: “I am here, not physically, but standing next to you. Be there for each other, always. I wish you a life of love, joy and blessings, that you always walk together, because together is strength, and now we can begin the ceremony. I am here with you.”
The bride, Shiral Mesika, told Mako that the hologram was “a real suprise” for guests and family members who weren’t informed of the hologram in advance. “They almost fainted from it. Everyone was very moved and cried," Mesika said.

She told the Israeli outlet that she was “really pleased” with the hologram, adding: “I couldn't have immortalised my father in any other way. The hologram is very accurate to my late father, both in appearance and 96 per cent how his voice would have sounded."
The company that produced the hologram, reportedly called Evento, told Mako of the event: "Not a single eye was left dry. At first, people didn't understand what was happening, they were shocked by the technology, the idea, and the excellent result.”
But viewers who saw the video on social media, of which there are several hundred thousand, have had mixed opinions on the decision to reanimate a deceased family member in hologram-form. One user on X said it was “morbid and in poor taste”, while another said: “As someone who missed his mother at his wedding, I would absolutely not want this.”
Others took a more sympathetic perspective, calling the AI blessing a “powerful moment” for the bride and “moving.”
