Inspectors returned to JFS this week nearly two and a half years after they downgraded it from an outstanding school to one requiring improvement.
The school has been braced for a follow-up visit from Ofsted this term.
Although inspectors in 2014 found the teaching was good and sometimes outstanding, they were concerned about aspects of the school's disciplinary policy, its monitoring of attendance and the progress of a "small number" of less able students.
JFS parents were encouraged by the school to complete an online survey for Ofsted as part of the two-day inspection.
Deborah Lipkin, executive head, and Simon Appleman, headteacher, who took over the running of JFS in May, said "we hope you will take this opportunity to show your support for the school".
In July Mrs Lipkin said she was aiming to produce "rapid and robust improvement".
JFS pupils on average achieve nearly half a grade higher at GCSE than might have been predicted on their entry to the school, according to the latest figures from the government.
