If Donald Trump were elected US president next year, at 70 he would be the oldest incoming incumbent. But age should be no impediment. He is as fit as a fiddle, according to his Jewish doctor, Brooklyn gastroenterologist Harold Bornstein.

In an open letter, Dr Bornstein described himself as Mr Trump's "personal physician" - a role he inherited from his dad, Dr Jacob Bornstein.

According to polls, the billionaire, who last week postponed his trip to Israel amid the international furore over his call for a bar on Muslims entering the USA, remains the Republican frontrunner in the race to the White House.

If successful, he would be "the healthiest individual ever elected," said Doctor B (right), who revealed that Mr Trump had shed 15 pounds over the past year. If only the candidate weighed his words as carefully…
