Hendon MP Matthew Offord will defend his seat after being reselected for the Conservatives for the 2015 general election.
He will take on the man he beat three years ago, Labour candidate Andrew Dismore, in what is likely to be one of the closest campaigns of the election.
A former BBC political analyst, Dr Offord won the constituency — which has the country’s highest proportion of Jewish voters — by just 106 votes in 2010 following a bitter contest between the two men.
Labour has put the seat third on a list of its key targets for 2015.
Dr Offord, a leading supporter of the new All-Party Parliamentary Group on British Jews, said he was “very pleased” to have been reselected by Hendon Conservative Association.
