The Hasmonean High School is understood to be exploring the possibility of relocating its boys section from its current base in Hendon, north-west London.
As rumours circulated this week of a move in the offing, the school’s head teacher Andrew McClusky would confirm only that “we are looking into how we can enhance and improve our accommodation”.
He added that there was “nothing remotely imminent though; at the moment we're just at the early feasibility stage”.
While the state-aided Orthodox academy is technically a single school, it has maintained separate sites with its girls’ school housed in Mill Hill.
One source told the JC that he had heard it suggested that the boys’ school move to the site in Mill Hill, north-west London, alongside the girls’ school – a plan that was first considered more than 30 years ago when the girls’ section became state-aided.
But Mr McClusky dismissed any suggestion that the school was contemplating a move as far afield as Borehamwood as "without foundation".
Hasmonean accepted 170 new first-year students last September, increasing its number in response to growing demand for places at Jewish schools.
