Daniel Radcliffe, 27, came to the aid of a tourist in London who had been robbed by two men on a scooter.

The former Harry Potter star helped the victim after the muggers left him bleeding from a cut on his face while snatching his Louis Vuitton bag.

One witness, David Videcette, said seeing the Jewish actor, famous for playing the boy wizard in eight movies, come to the rescue was “a bit of a surreal moment”.

Mr Videcette, who previously worked as a Metropolitan Police detective, told the Evening Standard: “I said you’re Daniel Radcliffe’ and he replied ‘I am’. He was a really nice bloke; a lot of stars wouldn’t have stopped to help.”

A spokeswoman for Daniel Radcliffe confirmed his presence at the incident, which took place in Chelsea.
