Arsenal and Spurs have been drawn to meet in the next round of the Capital One Cup. But Jewish supporters may have to give the game a miss. Although the date has not been finalised, it has to be played at White Hart Lane in the week of September 21.

Tuesday is Kol Nidrei and a 7.45 kick-off on Wednesday night, minutes after the end of Yom Kippur, would still be too early for most fasting fans to make it after shul. Unless, of course, Chief Rabbi Ephraim Mirvis, a Tottenham follower, can have a word in someone's ear.
