The leader of the Glasgow Jewish community has sent messages of condolence in the aftermath of the lorry crash that resulted in the death of six people.
Jewish Representative Council president Paul Morron wrote to the city’s Lord Provost Sadie Docherty, "extending our condolences to the families. There are many groups which make up Glasgow, but we are one community and one city, united in compassion."
Six pedestrians were killed and eight injured after the council lorry veered out of control on a busy shopping street in central Glasgow on Monday.
Mr Moron also signed the book of condolence in Tron Church "on behalf of the community", as he did last year when a police helicopter crashed on the roof of Clutha Vaults city centre pub.
"It was a terrible tragedy following on from the helicopter crash one year ago," Mr Moron said.
A memorial service was held on the last night of Chanucah at Newton Mearns Hebrew Congregation. Reverend Aharon Soudry recited kadish and El Rachamim for the victims and the gathering of 60 people sang psalms in tribute to those killed.
