Michael Brown, the activist who founded the first Jewish gay organisation in the world, has died aged 82 after losing his battle against leukaemia.
Mr Brown was instrumental in the establishment of the Jewish Gay and Lesbian Group in 1972, as a place to "meet and socialise with like-minded people".
He was a member of the Gay Liberation Front and joined the Homosexual Law Reform Society in 1957, which campaigned for the decriminalisation of gay sex.
Mr Brown, who also co-founded the Jewish Aids Trust charity in 1988, was buried at the United Synagogue Bushey Cemetery on Tuesday.
