Mr Williamson, the MP for Derby North, was suspended from the party in February after video footage emerged of him suggesting that the Labour party had been “too apologetic” on the issue of antisemitism, the latest in a long line of incidents involving the MP which had angered the Jewish community.
The MP was reinstated with a formal warning on Wednesday after a three-person panel decided to reject a recommendation by party officials to refer him to the next stage of Labour’s disciplinary process.
More than 100 Labour MPs and peers have urged Mr Corbyn to “show leadership” on the issue and remove the whip from Mr Williamson.
In 2018 Mr Corbyn received the approval Mr Griffin who defended him for stating that “Zionists” don’t understand English irony.
