Israeli entrepreneurs specialising in medical technology have met representatives of the NHS and top British healthcare companies.
The seven entrepreneurs presented the UK groups – including including NHS England and NHS Innovation Accelerator - with innovative products which they said would reduce healthcare costs and could improve the treatment of patients.
Products ranged from diagnosis by computer to data systems that prevent errors on prescriptions.
The amount spent on healthcare in Israel is among the lowest in developed countries – while at the same time, Israelis are among the healthiest people in the world, with Israeli men being ranked fourth in the world for life expectancy.
Healthcare is a growing area of collaboration between the UK and Israel.
The delegation, which attended meetings in London and Manchester, was co-organised by the UK Israel Tech Hub at the British Embassy and Start-up Nation Central.
