Music-writer Elliot Davis is calling upon his contacts to raise money for Teenage Cancer Trust (TCT).

Mr Davis - who was recently commissioned to write a musical for the City Of Liverpool in its Culture Year - is organising a star-studded musical event at the Bull Theatre in Barnet, North London. Among those performing are 10CC's Graham Gouldman, Lucie Silvas and Judy Tzuke.

Mr Davis, 35, tells People: "I knew so many lovely artists from the theatre and music, and wanted to combine them for one evening. I chose TCT because Graham Gouldman had done some treks for them and I thought it would be a good excuse to do something to raise a lot of money."

Mr Davis is well-established in the entertainment industry. His musical Best Friends and Butterflies was played by the BBC Big Band to celebrate the hand-over of the Olympic Games from Beijing to London. He is the theatre reviewer for Smooth Radio and a BBC documentary-maker, interviewing and writing profiles on a number of high-profile artists, including Liza Minnelli, Barry Manilow and Neil Diamond. He also wrote Freddie Mercury's 60th-birthday commemoration.
