Self-styled “comedy terrorist” Aaron Barschak failed in his attempt to unseat Conservative leader David Cameron in the Witney constituency.
Mr Barschak secured 53 votes, some way behind Mr Cameron’s 33,973.
Best-known for gate-crashing Prince William’s 21st birthday party while dressed as Osama bin Laden, Mr Barschak had campaigned for asylum seekers’ rights.
He was seen dressed in a Jesus-style outfit on the podium as the result was announced.
Mr Barschak finished last out of ten candidates. The Monster Raving Loony Party secured 234 votes, and UKIP’s Nikolai Tolstoy finished fifth with 2,001.
Last week, Mr Barschak had said in the JC that he would be happy to receive 43 votes — to match his age. His previous attempt to be elected to Parliament in a by-election in Brent East seven years ago garnered him 37 votes.
Fellow Jewish candidate Joe Goldberg was more successful in Witney, finishing third for Labour, with 7,511 votes.
He had run a “Stop Cameron” internet campaign, but focused largely on his role as a councillor representing the Jewish community in Haringey Council’s South Tottenham ward. He was still waiting for a declaration in the ward on Friday lunchtime.
