A mother has secured an an inquest into the death of her son after an 11-year campaign.
Twenty-two-year-old Jeremiah Duggan was found dead on a road near Wiesbaden, Germany, in March 2003.
German authorities claimed he had committed suicide, but his family believe there were suspicious circumstances involved .
A previous inquest in the UK in 2003 discounted suicide as a cause of death but did not investigate further.
This week coroner Andrew Walker ruled there was enough evidence for a full three-day inquest and set a date for March next year.
Mr Duggan's mother, Erica, who has led a campaign for an inquest, said she was pleased with the decision.
Mr Duggan was in Germany attending what he believed was a peace conference but was in reality an event organised by the far-right LaRouche network.
His mother said: "I think this coroner understands that it is important to look into this, because LaRouche, according to everything I have found out, is spreading hatred against and Jews."
She also claimed German authorities had failed to conduct a proper investigation into her son's death.
"The fact that they don't even want to look into it means you have to ask, 'why, what are they hiding?'" she said.
