Actor Josh Peck, the co-star of cult kids TV show Drake & Josh, is expecting his first child.
New York-born Peck, who is Jewish, married wife Paige O’Brien last year. They took to social media to announce her pregnancy on Thursday, posting a picture of O’Brien’s baby bump.
“Guys I did it!” Peck posted. “I’m finally down to my goal weight! Oh and we’re pregnant.”
Though Peck was bar mitzvahed, he describes himself as an agnostic Jew. But he says that “you inherently feel Jewish no matter what […] culturally it’s very much part of my core.”
Peck began his career in the late 1990s, becoming known to audiences for his role on Amanda Bynes’ The Amanda Show.
After starring in Drake & Josh, from 2004-2007, which follows stepbrothers Drake Parker (Drake Bell) and Josh Nichols (Josh Peck) as they live together despite having opposing personalities, Peck went on to star in films including Mean Creek, Drillbit Taylor, The Wackness, ATM and Red Dawn. He also voiced Casey Jones in Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. He also starred in a Netflix comedy, Take the 10.
Since 2017, Peck has become a Youtube star, starting his own comedic lifestyle Youtube channel, Shua Vlogs, featuring his wife and David Dobrik.
In an interview with The Cornell Daily Sun, Peck said: “I’m proud to be Jewish.” Joking about his Jewish identity, he said that all Jewish men “end up marrying our mothers.”
