Ben Spier has found an unusual pitch for his new salad business - a converted telephone kiosk.
The 34-year-old lawyer, originally from Sheffield, began operating out of his makeshift deli in Bloomsbury Square, central London, this week. "Mum used to have a small catering business so I think it must run in the blood," he said.
Mum is former Board of Deputies member Agnes Grunwald-Spier.
Having previously plied his wares at a weekly food market, he'd been looking for inexpensive premises to rent. The adapted phone box has a fridge, shelves and room for 100-odd salads.
So when he is not working on drafting legislation, you can find him on Tuesdays and Wednesdays serving such combinations as nectarine, mozzarella, rocket and basil or spiced cauliflower, new potato and cherry tomato.
