She also created the teen drama series Byker Grove starring Anthony David McPartlin and Declan James Oliver, who later shot to fame as TV personalities Ant and Dec.
The TV duo paid homage to the “incredible lady and wonderful writer.”
“We will always be grateful for what she did for us and the North East. Thank you Adele and rest in peace,” they wrote on Twitter.
Her partner of 40 years paid tribute to his “warm and funny” wife, who “had a very Jewish mother attitude to life, she had to make sure everybody was okay.”
“Her son said that if she didn’t have anything to worry about, it would worry her,” he told the regional daily.
Ms Rose, whose TV credits also included Z Cars, Heartbeat and Robin's Nest, retired in 2000. She is survived by her husband, son, Steve, and grandson, Daniel.
