Woodside Park Synagogue double joy

articlemain

Woodside Park Synagogue has welcomed home emeritus chazan, Rev Michael Plaskow and his wife Phyllis, for the rededication of the refurbished Wiseman Linden hall.

Rev Plaskow served as the shul’s chazan for 43 years, retiring 10 years ago to move to Israel. At a Friday night dinner attended by more than 100 members, Rev Plaskow unveiled a plaque marking the names of Rev Arnold Linden and Harry Wiseman. The unveiling ceremony was poignant as Rev Plaskow joined the community as chazan following the death of Rev Linden and Mr Wiseman, who died in a car crash returning from the funeral of a shul member.

During Chanucah the congregation lit its new outdoor chanuciah, designed by 13-year-old Ruth Steinman.
