Naomi Dickson will be the new Jewish Women's Aid executive director, succeeding Emma Bell, whose family is relocating to America.
With a background in charitable housing, Ms Dickson has been involved with JWA for many years, initially as a volunteer and then as a staff member.
She has run its refuge service and is currently communications and training co-ordinator. She has also worked to raise awareness of domestic violence through talks, articles, publications and social media.
Ms Dickson said she had "watched the organisation grow from strength to strength, supporting hundreds of women who need us. It has been a real privilege working with and learning from Emma and I am very excited to lead the organisation."
The JWA board has thanked Ms Bell for "raising the profile of JWA enormously. We are very grateful to her for the wonderful work she has done."
