World Jewish Relief's Pesach appeal will support around three dozen programmes helping impoverished Ukrainian Jews.
The charity currently assists 16,000 people in Ukraine. Its food cards programme enables clients to purchase essentials. WJR director of international programmes Stacey Swimer said that "with no savings or assets, many of those we help are unable to live on their pitifully low pensions.
"The food card programme restores their dignity and independence. Twelve pounds can provide an elderly individual with a food card. At a time of increasing prices and uncertainty in Ukraine, support such as this is especially important to ensure that our elderly clients continue to have some form of stability."
