Whitefield's discovery lessons are on course

articlemain

Nineteen young women have graduated from the Batmitzvah Discovery course run by Chabad of Whitefield.
The students began the course, organised by Sora Jaffe and Bassie Niasoff, in October and have been learning about what it means to become a Jewish woman and about famous Jewish women throughout history.

They shared what they had learned at an event at the Hilton Suite in Prestwich, which concluded with a symbolic candle-lighting. One participant, Charlotte Olsberg, said: "The course is not just about sitting and listening; it is about stimulating activities, trips, and most of all focusing on Jewish feminity." The course began in 2007 with nine participants.
