Rabbi David Mitchell is to join the rabbinic team at West London Synagogue, replacing the America-bound Rabbi Danny Burkeman.
Currently associate minister at Radlett and Bushey Reform, he will take up the post in November.
The 31-year-old Londoner - who switched from Orthodox to Reform Judaism while at Oxford University - has been at Radlett for five years, intially serving as student rabbi. As well as leading services, he has developed young adult programmes and expanded the cheder.
At West London, he will continue his focus on teenagers, young adults and on social action projects.
"I am thrilled that David is joining us," said West London senior rabbi Julia Neuberger. "I know he will bring huge energy and talent to WLS."
Radlett Reform chair Robert Wiltshire said the rabbi had been "a wonderful support to our senior minister Paul Freedman".
