We're up for pay day

articlemain

A steady stream of Leeds Jewish Welfare Board supporters turned up at its offices on the annual "pay day" to make good on their New Year Appeal pledges.

The day was launched in 2009 to cut back on administrative costs for the appeal. This year, it was held on the day after Yom Kippur.

Fundraising director Meirav Sasson said the response had been "amazing. It's gratifying to have a face-to-face engagement between donors, staff and trustees and to explain to donors the many different services the board offers."

This year's appeal - which LJWB hopes will at least match the £250,000 proceeds from 2014 - has focused on social isolation.
