We're the school of rock

articlemain

Three soon-to-be barmitzvah boys from Hertfordshire hope to see the song they wrote for a battle of the bands contest reworked by a member of indie music legends The Smiths.

Aldenham School pupils Jake Adams, Louis Slater and Niall Logue are The Undecided, who made it through to the area finals of national music contest Live and Unsigned.

One of the youngest acts in the competition, they failed to progress to the final, but wowed the audience at the Beck Theatre in Hayes.

They also impressed former Smiths' drummer Mike Joyce. "He told them he would be in contact," said Jake's mum Michele Adams. "He loved their original song Rock Education and said he wanted to do something with it."

For the boys, fans of Nirvana and Led Zeppelin, it might just be the stepping stone they need. "We don't have a back-up plan - we're going to be famous."
