Addressing the congregation at his induction service, Edgware Masorti Synagogue's Chilean-born rabbi, Mijael Even-David, said it seemed "strange to have this ceremony exactly a year after my arrival. In my view, it is a vote of confidence in myself and my wife."
He invited local clergy and elected representatives to work with him to show that "people of faith can bring love and healing". The main address was given by the senior rabbi of Masorti Judaism, New North London's Jonathan Wittenberg.
