A virtual Jewish community centre linking the scattered communities throughout Sussex has become a global hit.

Graphic designer Gary Weston and charities consultant Andrew Devon designed SJO as a service to the community with the blessing of the local Representative Council, whose chairman Beryl Sharpe said: “Gary and Andy have done a great job.”

“It’s very handy for discovering what’s going on,” enthused Frank Miller from Hastings, and Brighton expats agree: Laird Davis from the Dordogne said: “to live outside the hub of a Jewish community can be lonely. SJO will make me feel included again.”

Mr Weston said: “We want people to be able to interact, buy tickets for communal events, and meet likeminded Jews across Sussex and beyond.”
