The Jewish Leadership Council has set up a service to train the key activists and future heads of community organisations.

Called Lead: Jewish Leadership Excellence and Development, it will run programmes for both lay and professional leaders and will take over the Adam Science course for aspiring leaders from UJIA.

UJIA leadership development director Nicky Goldman and Sam Clifford, leadership project development manager at UJIA, have moved to the JLC to become, respectively, director and manager of Lead.

It will be chaired by Nigel Layton, who recently stepped down as chair of World Jewish Relief. He was "delighted to chair this exciting initiative to ensure that we are preparing the leaders of today and tomorrow for the challenges they face".
