Hasmonean Primary was judged to be an “outstanding school” in recent Ofsted and Pikuach inspections.

In his report, the Ofsted inspector noted that the Hendon-based school had developed a “caring and nurturing learning environment underpinned by strong Jewish values”. He highlighted the range of experiences provided and the school’s success in enabling all pupils to achieve, regardless of ability. 

Leadership and management at all levels was graded as “outstanding”. Jenny Rodin, who has been the headteacher of the 243-pupil school for 17 years, has “led the school very successfully and is effectively supported by a talented and enthusiastic staff”.

By the end of Year 6, pupils’ secular educational standards were judged to be “exceptionally high and within the top five per cent of schools nationally”. The Pikuach inspectors noted that the children “are imbued with a love of learning”.

Chairman of governors Jonathan Miller said: “The governing body is delighted with the recognition that the school is outstanding in both secular and Limmudei Kodesh studies. This is an accolade to our special children and their families but above all, to the dedicated and experienced staff.”
