Trainee Progressive rabbi Hannah Kingston has had her flowing locks shorn to support the fight against childhood cancer.
The Leo Baeck College student explained that "on Rosh Hashanah last year, the bravest boy I know got diagnosed with stage-four Hodgkin's lymphoma. He spent the year undergoing treatment and lost his hair. He came through the other side a more mature, kinder and more loving young man with a thirst for life.
"During this month of childhood cancer awareness, as he prepares for his barmitzvah, I have chosen to donate my hair to the Little Princess Trust, who make wigs for children undergoing cancer treatment."
Ms Kingston's haircut has also raised more than £1,000 for the Teenage Cancer Trust and the Karen Morris Trust, established in memory of a student who died a year after being diagnosed with chronic myeloid leukaemia.
