Stanmore eruv ready

articlemain

The Stanmore eruv has been completed and will be operational on Shabbat, "subject to the final regular check of the week" by the community's shomrim. Six months in construction, the religious boundary covers a 1.5-mile radius around the Stanmore and Canons Park Synagogue.

London Beth Din kashrut director Rabbi Jeremy Conway said the authority was "delighted to give their seal of authorisation to yet another eruv, following in the footsteps of north-west London, Edgware and Borehamwood".

Stanmore chair Philip Hertz added: "We are all absolutely thrilled to have got to this stage and hope to see the fruits of all the hard work that has been put in by Dr Nigel de Kare-Silver and his eruv committee."
