ShabbatUK, the Chief Rabbi's project to encourage Shabbat celebration, which was due to return in March after a three-year interlude, has been postponed till May.
The event, which used to take place after the autumn festivals, will be held for the first time in spring.
Deanna Rosenthal, the project manager for ShabbatUK, writing to colleagues, said, "We have been exploring a variety of options to ensure that ShabbatUK 2022 is as impactful, inspiring and safe as it can possibly be."
Feedback had made clear that the onset of the Omicron variant had begun to make planning for the original date of March 5 and 6 "extremely difficult", she said.
