Holocaust survivor and long-time welfare volunteer Judith Rosenberg has established a social work scholarship which will benefit Jewish Care Scotland.

The scholarship will support 25-year-old Naomi Adams-Strump as she studies for a BA in social work through the Open University while working for the charity.

"I never got the chance to go to university and have a professional career so it is very special to be in a position to give a young person today that opportunity," Mrs Rosenberg explained. "Training is so important. Apart from all the knowledge gained, it gives you a chance to bond with others in a similar position. Meeting Naomi was a special moment and I wish her every success."

Glasgow-born Ms Adams-Strump said: "Working at Jewish Care Scotland and accessing the study programme will equip me with core knowledge, skills and values to work with the Jewish community."
